Terms

Last updated: October 1, 2026

These terms cover this website, annotake.app, and the Annotake app for Mac. By downloading or using Annotake, you agree to them. What Annotake does with data is in the privacy policy.

Who we are

Annotake is made by Fayzan Malik, an individual in Ontario, Canada. In these terms, “we” means him.

The beta

Annotake is free during the beta, for as long as the beta lasts. Its features may change, and the beta may end. Paid plans may come later, but nothing you use becomes paid without notice and your agreement.

Your license

You may install and use Annotake on your Macs, for personal use and for work. Don’t reverse-engineer, decompile, redistribute, rent, or resell it, except where the law lets you anyway. Annotake, its name, and its logo stay Fayzan Malik’s; this license doesn’t give you any of them.

Your recordings

Your recordings are yours, and so are what you record and what you share. Follow your employer’s rules, and respect other people’s privacy and confidential information.

No warranty

Annotake and this website are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. Annotake is beta software, and beta software has bugs, so keep your own copies of anything important.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, from your use of Annotake or this website. Our total liability is capped at what you paid us for Annotake in the 12 months before the claim, which during the beta is nothing. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Trademarks

Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, Mac, and macOS are trademarks of their owners. Annotake isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by them.

Open-source software

Ending

You can stop at any time by deleting Annotake. We may end the beta, or stop offering Annotake. The sections on your recordings, the warranty, liability, and the law still apply after that.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live gives you other rights.

Changes

When these terms change, so does the date at the top, and big changes are noted on the home page.
